Has anyone done this yet. What have you got for prices
Hampton Inn in Farmingville $129 for Fri, Sat, Sun in July and Suites are $249
Also La Quinta Inn in Bohemia right by the airport $129 for same as above and $149 for a suite. This hotel is new and gorgeous. They have a jacuzzi on the premises that holds up to 10 people. The hotel is new and very nice.

Re: Hotel blocks
DId you have to go there in person to get the discounted rate? I called Best Western in Massapequa and their discount made me want to laugh- it was the same rate I found on the internet for just one room! Go figure. It was $125 a night. Sadly, I looked online for Huntington Hilton and that was $159!
So I would have to make an appointment with someone, huh? Thanks for any help!

Re: Hotel blocks
I was just out and about so that is when stopped by. No appointment and they were happy to help me and show me the premises. I would rather see things before booking for my guest, I must see rooms and what they are paying for. I don't want any complaints about rooms that were not nice and I was the one responsible for blocking them.

Re: Hotel blocks
Also might I ask where you are getting married. Because I was going to say for that time of year 125 is not bad but I see what you are saying about the price being the same as online that may not be a discount. Also did you mention that being the same price as online? My hall recommended Hampton Inn they have some kind of agreement with them.
You can FM and I will let you know about some hotels if need be depending on your hall locality.

Re: Hotel blocks
Thanks Lisa! My hall is CLM in Lindenhurst. When I called and mentioned it was the same rate as the one I saw online, she said that is the lowest rate offered. Go figure!!!!
I have no idea how to negotiate with these people. FH is telling me to get them down to $110. Okay honey, do you want to do it for me?

Does your hall have anyone they deal with directly?

Re: Hotel blocks
Yeah- but the hotel is in Happauge. Doesn't really make sense for my guests, as the church is in Massapequa. Ugh. The hotel in Happauge would be awesome- it would save FH & I money as we would not have to pay for a shuttle! But I'm sure the hotel rate would be more $$.

Re: Hotel blocks
I am booked at the Marriot Islandia and we got a group rate of $119. The bridal sweet is $119 if we get 10 rooms or more in the block.
I think that they are all booked up but give Tarsha Brown a call. It is a gorgeous hotel.

Re: Hotel blocks
we wanted to do the windwatch, but it was just too expensive. We blocked rooms at the holiday inn express in stonybrook. It is across the street from FIL's house and the after party is there. They are $159 for a regular room. I think that is nuts. I feel bad, but I guess that is just what is in that area.

Re: Hotel blocks
We got the Huntington Hilton for $129. Most hotels arent really very negotiable when it comes to prices, so we took what we could get.
We checked out the Holiday Inn Hauppauge and originally booked it for $149 until we realized that they were scamming us (and they were very unprofessional and rude), so we cancelled and booked with the Hilton.

Yeah I thought that too at first, but we really liked the hotel and when I called around-the difference wasn't that big between hotels and the windwatch is so much nicer than the other ones I called, so we went for it

Re: Hotel blocks
I did the same exact thing.....I'm getting my room block for $169.00 a night at the Hyatt Windwatch In August...the Huntington hilton was quoting $139.00 but I didn't love the suite....The Hyatt is a really nice hotel so to me it was worth it.

Re: Hotel blocks
We booked rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn on Vets Hwy (I think that's Ronkonkoma?). We got a rate of $99 for January. My dad booked a suite for me & FH for $209 for that night.
