Hotel Blocks

Hi brides! I am trying to get rates from different hotels in the area of my reception hall. We are getting married at Sand Castle, and so far only Viana has been able to provide me with a quote. ($199) The Hyatt Place Garden City cannot send me a quote until the end of the month (1 year before).

All of the hotels sound so familiar in the area and I am getting so confused! Has anyone stayed at any hotels in the area or can anyone recommend a place 15 min or less away? Do we think $199 is a lot?

I'm not sure exactly where Sand Castle is, but I am getting married at the beginning of June in an area that is right near the Hamptons, and I've gotten 4 quotes already and none are that high. It seems a little steep. Were they including anything? Breakfast? Shuttle service to and from your wedding?

If 8 or more rooms book they include a shuttle. 13 or more rooms and they include a 2nd shuttle. Doesn't seem to say anything about breakfast. I thought it was a little steep also!

I blocked rooms at the Viana, they don't include breakfast.

I using The Roslyn Hotel and it's $179 with breakfast.

the viana is really far from the sand castle, are you sure your guests will want to stay somewhere that far? I would book somewhere much closer personally

Hyatt Place Garden City gave me $169 for a thursday night & friday night in june

So far I got a quote from Fairfield Inn by Marriott Syosset. It's less than half a mile from our venue. They don't require a minimum on room blocks and you don't have to guarantee the amount that you do block. They also don't charge you a fee if you don't book the rooms. I looked at pictures on their website and it looks decent for what my guests will be using it for. They quoted me $125 per night for either king, queen or two double beds and they include breakfast. I say you can't beat that!

How did you manage to get rates of $139 and $149 and what is the difference between the two? I just checked their site and my date and your date both cost the same regularly... Thanks for any help!

We are getting married in January so maybe that has something to do with the cheaper rates? I am not sure we just said when and they gave us that price.. $139 is for the King bed and $149 is for 2 Queens.

I live close to the Sand Castle and unfortunately there really aren't any nice hotels in the area. We blocked at Homewood Suites in Carle Place (about a 15 min drive from your venue) and it's $149 for a 2-queen room and includes a full hot breakfast. We are getting married in March, so I don't know what the prices would be for the summertime.

There is a Hampton Inn & Suites in Rockville Center, less than 5 miles from the Sand Castle. But I don't have any info on them.

There is a Holiday Inn that was recently renovated in Carle Place, as well ... not sure how much or if the renovations were that great, though.
