Ok So my save the dates are on their way to me !! I cant wait. Keep in mind we have a lot of family and friends coming from FL. We have to block about 38 rooms for our guests SO I get a phone call from my FMIL last night and shes saying that people are already trying to call hotels near the area of where the reception is. Do you think its a good idea if I put the hotel cards with the price on it ( usually for invitations) in with the save the dates when i send them out?

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
Yes I think that is fine. We actually did that with our e-party thank yous and STDs!! people just didn't get that they had to book ASAP because there are only 50 rooms at the Inn at East Wind. It is never too early! We just learned that there were only 7 rooms left at the Inn for our wedding so I called up some family/friends and now I think there are only 3 left in the entire place!! We are looking to block some more rooms for the rest of our guests at a hotel down the road.

I think you should - especially if people are asking. It doesn't hurt!

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
I definitely would! I sent out our hotel info w/ the STDs. Since we had so many OOT guests I wanted them to be able to plan ahead. Plus, it helps you figure out if you blocked enough rooms.

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
I made a separate card with cardstock for my OOT STDs with information on area airports, the hotel with the block, timing of the ceremony etc. etc. for those that needed to make travel plans.
I used the hotel cards in my actual invitation.
This is the info:
Information for Out of Town Guests
Ceremony and Reception will be taking place at: Hamlet Windwatch Golf and Country Club Hauppauge, NY Ceremony at 5:00, Reception immediately after
Hotel The Hyatt Regency Wind Watch (directly next door to ceremony/reception) http://windwatch.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/
Rooms are available at a special rate of $xx throughout the weekend. Call the Hyatt directly at: 631-784-1234 and ask for the xxx-xxx wedding room block.
Travel Information JFK& LaGuardia Airports: 42 miles Penn Station, NY: 46 miles (1hr 25mins by train) Islip MacArthur Airport: 8 miles
Among other airlines, Southwest Airlines serves Islip MacArthur Airport from many major US cities. The airport is 15 minutes away from the hotel and the hotel provides a shuttle that can be arranged to pick you up at the airport.
If you have any further questions please contact Melissa: xxxxxx
We hope that you can make it and look forward to seeing you next March!

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
I did this is what it said: AccommodationsLa Quinta Inn 10 Aero Rd. Bohemia, NY 11716(800) 531-5900 Call to reserve, do NOT go online. Make sure to mention the Jones/Smith wedding (Block # 12345678) to receive the special rate of $139/night. They offer transportation to and from the ISP airport if needed. I printed them onto business cards and included them w/ my magnets. Obviously I only included them in the OOT guests magnets.

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
I did this and I also put the hotel information on my wedding website which i emailed to people even before I sent out the STDs. It helps alot for OOT guests to have that info in advance.

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
I'm going to put the hotel cards in with the STD's- so many of our guests will be from OOT and I want to make sure they get their rooms reserved before the hotel fills up!

Yes, definitely! I put the hotel cards in with the Save The Dates. Your guests should get a better rate if they wait for the room block.

Re: Hotel Blocks/Save The Dates
Hey date twin! I would send the hotel info. with the STD's also so people can make arrangements as soon as they would like to. Do you know when you're sending yours out? We're still playing around with the design, and will probably send them out in Feb.
