hotel distance

hotel distance

We are going to have several oot guests for our wedding i was wondering if you think a hotel 20 minutes away is to far? There are one's closer but they do not have a bar for an after party. We will be providing transportation and the hotel is 10 minutes at the most from the reception.

Let me know what you think

thanks

Re: hotel distance

What hotel are you looking to book? My wedding is at Crest Hollow & we booked the Holiday Inn-because they are 3 miles away & the bar will stay open.

I am dealing with the same thing
Our Hotel is in Huntington (3 miles from the reception) but my chucrh is in Glen Cove (aboout 20 minutes away) Here is what I am doing
--I got shuttle service for the OTT guests to and from the reception
--a month before the wedding I am sending them a newletter like thing packed with Weekend places and fun, but also including:
1) overall directions to the hotel and checurch
2) directions to the church from hotel
3) directions to the hotel from the church

I think most people should be able to find there way

I blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton and my wedding was in Roslyn Harbor. it was about 20-25 minutes away.

I got the best deal at the Hunt. Hilton - $109 a night!

Re: hotel distance

I am looking into the Wingate in Garden City and now I am also looking at the four points sheraton in Plainvew.
The Huntington Hilton does have the best rate but the bar closes at 1 and my wedding doesn't end until 12:30 so that would mean no after party :(

Try the Holiday Inn in Plainview-that is where I am blocked. The bar will stay open as long as there is a crowd. They have a band on Saturday nights & a DJ when the band is done. There is also a small dancefloor. The bar area is huge!

My wedding was at the Crest Hollow and I had my OOT guests (as well as myself) stay at the Melville Marriott. We got a great rate and it was only 10-15 minutes away.

I don't think 20 minutes is too far.
