We're getting married at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage and need a hotel for our OOT guests. Does anyone know anything about the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview? What about the Melville Marriot? Any suggestions would be so helpful.

We had the Four Points as one of our hotel blocks and the rates were $139/night for both single and double occupancy. Our wedding was May 2007. DH and I stayed there, too, during our planning process, and have no complaints. It's been a while, so I can't recall the exact minimum structure (if any), but IIRC it was fairly low risk to us.
We looked at the Marriott in Plainview as well, but we didn't like the minimum structure there and the rate was higher.
Our other hotel was the Hilton Long Island/Huntington. Same rate as the Four Points Sheraton. DH also stayed here, and again, no complaints. I believe there was no minimum here.

I highly recommend the Homewood Suites in Plainview - they are right across the street from the Four Points. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had an excellent experience there. I think you should go to all of the hotels in the area and ask to see a room. They will gladly show you a few. Good luck.
