Hoping to get your advice/suggestions on this matter:
I didn't arrange to block out any rooms for the night of my wedding, mainly because we'll be sleeping home and the bridal party will also be going home that night. ( I took a vote of what they wanted to do). My dilemma is that I am inviting guests who will be traveling quite a distance (upstate NY, CT, MD, FL, CO), should I include some area hotel information even though I didn't make arrangements with any hotels?
Your opinions would be appreciated! TIA

Re: Hotel for wedding night
IMO i think the right thing to do would be to call hotels in the area and block off some rooms. if people are travel to be at your wedding the last thing they need to do is call around for a good price for hotels when theyre not familiar with the area.
good luck!

If you have time it might be nice to block some rooms, I'm surprised people haven't called to ask yet. I dont know where you are getting married but I am using the Hampton Inn in Islandia. Kelly Ann handles group sales and she was great. Also you are not responsible for rooms not booked!

IMO, you should try to block some rooms and defiantly include the information with your invites. It usually does not cost anything to do that and it will give your guests an option of staying if they wanted to.
If you can't block rooms for some reason, I would still include a list of a few places in the area.

yes....I highly suggest it. I would also recommend calling the nearest hotel and blocking some rooms. Usually, if you are getting 5+ rooms, there is a discounted rate. Can you call around and see what kind of rate you can get? Explain the situation.

That's who we're using too! Kelly Ann has been great, excellent customer service, and she gave us a price that was $20 cheaper than any other hotel in the area. They also send you nice hotel info cards for the invite.
