Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

Danielle and I are looking for a hotel for our wedding night. We already looked at the Uniondale Marriot, and it is booked for August 14th. They must be having an event at Nassau Colesium or something. We want to get a suite, and we are looking for a hotel that is going to give us a complimentary breakfast.

Any other ideas?

I heard something of the wingate not being very nice....or something was wrong with the service that someone got there. It was someone on this board.

TH GC hotel is way too expensive for us. A suite is around $550

What about the Fox hollow? Might be the same story as GCH, though.

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

What about the East Norwich Inn? I'm not too familiar with Nassau, I live in Westchester, but it was one of the ones we looked into. Unfortunately they were booked for our date.

Try the Inn At Great Neck. Or The Andrew in Great Neck. I know The Andrew gives a breakfast, but not sure about the Inn at Great Neck.

The Inn at Fox Hollow is all suites. I think the bridal package is $249? I think we got it for around $200 because we are having our wedding at a scotto place. they have breakfast too.

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

I heard bad things about the Wingate inn in Garden city and also The Inn at Fox Hollow...from brides on this site. I dont have the posts...but I seem to remember them from doing a search a while ago.

Has anyone stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rockville center? If so can I get a review of that place??

Actually we went and looked at both this weekend. The suite at the Wingate was very nice!!! I think it ran about $300 and it included breakfast. Of course the Garden City Hotel is amazing! We decided to stay in a regular room at the Garden City (the suite was too expensive) only because I've always wanted to stay there!!

My sister stayed at the Roslyn Claremont on her wedding night and couldn't say enough great things about how wonderful they were.

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

My Fiance booked Harrison Manor House last night for our first night as husband and wife. We got a great deal! Under $150. I just want to stay in the big old mansion ( I love historical houses!) We got the honeymoon suite at sandals, so I said lets just book a nice room and order room service our wedding night!

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

That's what I was going to suggest. I'm looking into that as well, because Fox Hollow & East Norwhich are booked on my date.
We are tryign to figure ot exatrly what we are doign teh next day first 9 goign home, going straight to airport, etc) before we book though.

I just got a brochure from the Wingate last night. Looks nice --a little expensive, i don't know about the service.

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

The Claremont is $395 for the suite....way too expensive for us...We dont want to spend over $300 with tax and gratuity.

How are the prices at the wingate?

Anyone know anything about the red roof inn? The one near Lowes in Westbury.

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

Wingate Inn, which is in Garden City on Stewart Ave. Take the Stewart Ave exit off the Meadowbrook, turn right on Stewart Ave and it's on your right.

Their bridal suite is $299/night but if you block off rooms at the hotel for guests, and 15 of them reserver rooms, you get it for $249/night.

Their smaller jr. suite is normally $249/night.

I found the suites in the Holiday Inn in Westbury to be very cramped. I don't recommend. (although the lobby is really lovely and the people are very nice. They are also very nice at the Wingate).

I am not sure about complimentary breakfast at Wingate. They don't have a restaurant. They do give you comp. champagne and strawberries and put it in your room right before you arrive.

They do offer a continental b-fast but those are usually bagels and OJ and end 9am or so.

Or you can try Fox Hollow Inn, or the Garden City Hotel. Never been in rooms in either but their reputations are good.

Mary

Re: Hotel for wedding night in Nassau County

The Rosyln Claremont hotel is $179 for the rooms but the bar is only open until 10PM because there are rooms near it so they won't stay open late.
The buffet is $28 plus tax and 19% per person.
The holiday inn in Westbury and Plainview are both reasonable. Westbury offers a complimentary breakfast and they both have bars that will stay open for your guests.
I stayed at the wingate for a wedding last summer. IT was nice, but pricy. They offer a shuttle service for your guests.(only place I've found that will)
