I am getting married at Terrace on the Park and really don't want to have people stay in one of the airport hotels. I just feel like they don't offer the ammenities other hotels offer.
I was hoping someone could give me some suggestions for hotels. They could be on Long Island or in the city... I was hoping to stay away from the city because of cost for my guests. I really want a pool. I am willing to have my guests travel a little if the quality of the hotel is better....
TIA!!

Re: hotel help...
I really like the Parker Meridian in NYC-- I know they have a pool and its just a really fun, great hotel. Might be expensive because of location. Also like the Millenium UN Plaza on the east side-- may be cheaper than Parker Meridian but also has a pool!

Re: hotel help...
Since you are getting married in Queens, you would be best served by putting them in a hotel that is at least on the way to your venue.
Try one of the hotels on the Upper East Side, if you are thinking the city is your best option.
There is a Marriott there, the Marmara Hotel.
City hotels are not as expensive as you would think. Shop around and ask for them to 'sharpen their pencils.'
Hotels are hurting right now. Some of them will really jump through hoops to give you a good rate.
My hotel initially quoted me a rate of $395. Then I pushed them and got them to $295. A month before my wedding, they called to say they had lowered the rate to $195 due to 'market conditions.'
I'll post the name of my hotel AFTER my wedding, but it is a very chic, brand new hotel.

Re: hotel help...
Theres a marriott not that far from Laguardia, its close to Astoria. They do have a pool and its nicer than most of the hotels by the airport. Its also extremely close to Terrace on the park.
I can recommend city hotels but like you said, this might be best since they will save money, plus the expense of cab fare to the Rh and back

The GCH is a bit pricey but GORGEOUS. And i'm not just saying that bc I'm having my reception there. I really mean it. It's amazing. And of course they give you a discount if you block rooms.
