I'm going this route in the hopes that people will book their hotel rooms sooner than later...
What wording do you like??

I wrote something along the same lines, plus gave all the codes (we were given 2 codes for our guests, one if they want 2 queens and one if they want 1 king).

My hotel gave me cards for the STD. here's what it says:
For your convenience the [hotel name] has set aside rooms for our special occasion.
For more information and to make reservations, pease contact their Reservation Department at [phone #]. Reservations must be mde no later than 30 days prior to our scheduled affaris. Please see reverse side for directions.

We hope you will come celebrate our wedding day And we would like to be certain you have a place to stay
We have a block of rooms at the Hilton that can be reserved for a discounted rate but space is limited so reserve now, please dont wait!
Then on the back I put the hotel contact info along with something saying that you can cancel up to 24 hrs in advance

Also, I chose not to put a date on the hotel information card because 1) I don't want them thinking 'Oh August, I have time' and 2) I can put the date on the hotel information card or website for the formal invitations.

Thanks for all your feedback... Most of you chose #1 which is formal... so we will keep that for our invitations...esp with the date and wording...
The poem is better for the Save the Date (which traditionally is not formal)

Well mine are not free because I already got 100 flyers for free (for the photo share site) but I did get 80 for $30 including envelopes...
