So I blocked rooms at my hotel like 8 months ago. I was told by the woman in charge of doing this that she could only block 20 rooms (i wanted/needed b/w 35-40) and once they started booking rooms she could increase it for me. I called like 3 months ago to say that a few people had booked and could we increase and she said, no, i need closer to 5 people, not 3, but dont worry, you have pleanty of time. I caled yesterday and she said 6 people had booked, and i asked to increase and she said...no all of our rooms are booked!i told her i was upset and i didnt understand (which i do now...i was just so surprised then) and she said to me...i never told you i would only block 20 rooms, thats your problem if you didnt know to block enough rooms. AHHHH...i wanted to flip out. i was just so angry...dont lie to me!!!

No problem - vent away! When we visited the hotel we ended up using, the woman at the counter said that they didn't block any rooms or do anything special for a weddding. Low and behold, on my wedding day, there were other brides there who had blocked off rooms!

ooooh...that's shady!!
sorry to hear about your hotel issues! that stinks! i visited my halls recommended hotel, but can't block anything yet because i have to wait until it is officially 1 yr. from out date. i hope i don't wind up with the same problems!!

Did you sign a contract? If so, was there a cutoff date stipulated on the contract?
