I am having trouble with choosing a hotel for out of town guests. Our reception is at the Inn at New Hyde Park. We are looking for a hotel with prices less than 175 and somewhere that we can have an afterparty either at the hotel bar or at a nearby (walking distance) bar or restaurant. Any suggestions???
hi there i'm also getting married at the inn and this was a problem for me as well...are you staying at the inn's bed and breakfast the night of the wedding? if you are there are a few options...the closest hotel under 175 is the floral park motor inn on jericho...i don't have any info on it though as i never went inside or put a block on it but i know one of my guests looked into it and said it was 120 for night...i put a block at the andrew in great neck and at the inn at great neck (2 blocks away from the andrew) because i had a few guests that would need a hotel for a few nights and both hotels are very nice with easy access to LIRR and places to eat and shop within walking distance...both are $200 a night though...as for the afterparty, the inn at new hyde park will keep the bar open in the restaurant for you, for how long i'm not sure and there is also an irish pub a block away called tj o'rouke's that you could prob continue the party at...i think this makes the most sense if you're staying at inn because then you don't have to travel far and the hotels in great neck are a 10-15 min cab ride or drive and the floral park motor inn is even closer...hope this helps!
i am also getting married at the Inn, i just booked a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn in GC, about 20 minutes away. They do not have after hour facilites, but give your guest a hot breakfast in the morning. I got a price of $159 for a Sat. night. I am also having an after party at the lounge/bar at the Inn, for people who want to stay later. Of course you will need to start a liquor tab there.
Right by Roosevelt Field is the Holiday Inn, Red Roof Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn. LaQuinta is on Stewart Avenue and the Marriott is located by the Coliseum. All are between $159-$179.

i am having my guests stay at the Hampton Inn in garden city about 20 minutes from the Inn @NHP. i got a rate of $159 a night with a hot breakfast buffet.
I would recommend the Floral PArk Motel... reasonable pricing and they just re-did it.... never stayed there before.... but I live 5 mins away and have heard good things about it.... its also 5-7 mins down the road from the Inn.... def worth checking out!
