Which hotel would you rather stay at? (I don't know if any of these can even block rooms that weekend, but I want to know who to call first)
**I don't don't know the actual rates, but these are the starting rates online.***
#1-Howard Johnson Westbury - closest. under 2 miles from reception. Lowest rate- ~$115 Not as fancy as other 2. Worried people will be turned off by name/ rep, but room seems average.
#2-East Norwich Inn - about 4 miles away-a very easy direct route, rates starting at about $140, not a brand name, but seems very nice. Has a restaurant & bar. If we don't block it for guests, we may stay there ourselves.
#3Holiday Inn Plainview Rates start around $125, has a restaurant & bar, about 5 miles away, but involves Nothern State.

Re: Hotel Poll
I would block the Holiday Inn - but you could always give the other two choices as a higher priced and lower priced option.

Re: Hotel Poll
Thanks. Interesting, you both picked the same.
How come, because its middle of the road? That's what FH was thinking. I just thought peopel would think it was silly to have to get on a highway to drive there, when the Howard Johnson is right there.
ETA: I jsut checekd the poll results- No one picked the Howard Johnson's. I guess that agrees with my first instinct.
Any other opinions?

Re: Hotel Poll
i would have to see them all in person prior to making a decision. we picked the Wyndham Wind Watch because it has a bar and lounge people can hang out in post reception. we are also considering a rehearsal dinner/picnic (they have a little backyard patio) the night before as all the OOT guests roll in...

Re: Hotel Poll
So you saw it first? how does that work. Do you call, and ask about rates & if you can come? I figured if I called, they'd want me to make a decision over the phone.
ETA: its not too many realy OOT guests, its mostly friends from westchester that don't wnat to drive home at midnight.

Re: Hotel Poll
For a guest, I would think they'd want the most affordable since they are travelling to the wedding...so I would pick not only the most affordable but the closest hotel.
