We had 30 rooms blocked at the Huntington Hilton. A bunch of family members tried to call today to block rooms and they said they are all blocked for my wedding. They said they will have to pay full price. Now, my questioni s, did anyone else have this problem?? I remember when I blocked them, the woman said if I needed to block more it would not be a problem. Problem is, no one is there today in the sales department and FH is screaming at me that someone has to be there. I keep telling him no one is. Did anyone have rooms blocked and then have to add to it?? Did they give you a problem adding more rooms??? Please help put my mind at ease today!!! Thanks

I don't know anything about hotels Boop, I just wanted to say I'm sorry you are stressed!
I would think there has to be a manager or someone there to help. Did you try calling?

UGH our hotels told us that when our guest fill the rooms blocked then they automatically block 10 more and so on until either we don't need anymore or they have no more rooms- Maybe go down there in person I think one often gets better response in person than over the phone whenever possible

I used to work at a hotel, and usually if your rooms get all reserved the manager would call you up, and ask if you wanted to reserve more. I think its very inconsiderate on their part. Most managers don't work on Sundays. Just tell your FH that you will call them first thing tomorrow morning. If you dont want to wait, find out there reservation policy. Maybe you could just hold the rooms under your guests name (individual names). Good luck.

I was told the same as Robs-luvs-me. Could it be the hotel is sold out? I would call the manager tomorrow morning. They should let you add more.

im blocked at the Sheraton Smithtown and what she said is they release blocks of 10. after 10 are blocked they would release more.. But that didnt happen. Fi cousin called to say they didnt have any more rooms. I called sales right away and they took care of it for me. I was stressed too. Let me know if there is a problem.. My Dad knows someone that works there...

I will tell you my Law school used to have its formal dinner dance at that hotel - I was on SBA (studen Bar Association) for two years and both years we had problems with them not giving the room blocks to many of the students - etc.

My mom called and spoke to a manager. It seems that there are only 12 of the 30 rooms blocked, but for some reason, they blocked anyone else from reserving rooms. My guests are supposed to have til January 7th to book their rooms before the offer expires. So in a nutshell, they screwed up and have a block on the block of rooms I have and there is nothing that can be done until tomorrow when the girl I am working with is in. Supposedly all will be solved tomorrow. Kepping my fingers crossed they don't give us problems, I am so stressed with a ton of other things going on, that I am about ready to call the whole thing off!!
