Are you staying in the same hotel as your OOT guests after your wedding? FH says we absolutely can't, because 'everyone knows what goes on that night and them having any personal insight into where is too personal for me.' I really don't get this, I mean we're all adults here lol...the only other wedding I've been to I was in the BP and the bride and groom stayed at the same hotel we did. FH feels really strongly so I guess this is what we'll be doing but I wanted to know if everyone else is doing this and I'm just clueless or if FH is weird haha

Re: Hotel question
We absolutely will be. I'm looking for a hotel that will keep the bar open late for us in case anyone wants to keep on going after the wedding, so there would be no reason for us to go somewhere else after that.
I can't imagine people going back to the hotel thinking 'Oh this is where Mr. & Mrs. are having their first time as a married couple together........'

Re: Hotel question
I kind of thought about what your FH thought too. Yes we are all adults and everything but its just that whole 'wedding night' thing. I feel like we would get claps and wistles and stuff the next morning if people saw us, like older people and that would be really weird for me.
Anyay, I had posted a while ago about not staying in a hotel anyway for other reasons which has nothing to do with why you are posting, lol. Basically, if we do stay in a hotel, I dont want it to be the same one, maybe same as the BP if anyone needs to stay but definately not relatives.

Re: Hotel question
We are definitely staying with our OOT's. We are both looking forward to seeing all of our friends and family that we don't get to see too often. We really doubt that anyone is thinking about what we are doing that night. We have been together along time and its 2010...cmon I mean people have to clue in to the fact that its probably not the first time. Also, we are planning a nice breakfast in the morning for everyone...as a thank you for traveling all this way, so we need to be there.

Re: Hotel question
we will be, its just easier that way, plus if we book a certain number of rooms than the suite is at a discounted price

ITA...on all points. I think it will be great. Besides, my brother will be trekking it in from the Navy - stationed in the Middle East for my wedding. And FH's family is coming in from FL.... So we want to have breakfast with them and maybe visit some wineries the nex afternoon.

Re: Hotel question
I thought about this also. I originally thought it would be a little weird having my parents in the same hotel but after much thought i decided we will. We want to spend as much time with our family and friends as possible before they all leave. We plan on having a brunch at the hotel the next morning. Of coarse we will be on a completely different floor than everyone

Re: Hotel question
I never thought about that even! Never has it occurred to me that someone will be thinking what we do there. I talk to his mom and my parents about his weird sleeping patterns and its never emberrasing. So I don't think staying at a hotel same as our OOT guests will be as well. Plus I'm dying to spend as much time as possible with everyone! So we're def staying at the same hotel. I'm actually planning on starting the hunt for a block of rooms in the next few weeks

Re: Hotel question
More than likely yes. The reason is because we're going to be having an after party at the hotel bar...it would just be easier to stay at the same hotel as guests. For us, its more a convience thing.

See I fear this happening lol, bc as I have mentioned before that night is THE NIGHT for me hahaha and everyone knows that. I feel like breakfast the next morning is going to be soo embarassing but hopefully its quick and painless hmmm I dont know....

Re: Hotel question
im not sure if we are yet..not because im concerned with what people will be thinking, but because i was thinking about going into a nice hotel in the city, since our reception ends early (at 5)

Re: Hotel question
we didn't but i'll also say that we hardly had any oot guests and just didnt have many ppl stay at the hotel period. All our bp went home after since for most it was just 15-20 mins away. So i didnt see any reason for us to stay at the hotel we blocked rooms when honestly we hardly had anyone stay there.
We also went on our HM 5 days after our wedding so bc of that we decided to do 2 nights at a hotel. Since we decided to do that, we stayed in the city so the next day we could have things to do such as going out to dinner the next day which we did. It was easier too since we had limo drop us off and had no car with us. It was easier to be in the city without a car and since we went to astoria after we left hotel, it was only a 10-15 min cab ride.

We're staying at the same hotel because I think it will be easier, and we want to do a brunch at the hotel the next morning, + we'd like them to keep the bar open for us and our guests.

Thats so funny--my FH is saying exactly the same thing. He is being so difficult. We are having an after party and i figured we would do it at the hotel where OOT guest are staying and we would stay there too. He freaked out and said that there is no way we are staying there. Now we are going to have to get a car to pick us up after the party and bring us to another hotel---so dumb!!!
