Re: Hotel question (poll)
I'd say $100-125, although the hotels we blocked are more in the $125-150 range. That's Garden City for ya!

Re: Hotel question (poll)
The reason I'm asking is because I just called the Hilton on 100 and they said it would be $139 and I was not thrilled but happy about that because I honestly thought t might be more....or have I just been living here to long?

Re: Hotel question (poll)
I always expect to pay close to $150 depending on the location of the wedding...

we blocked 20 rooms at I think it was 160.00 but you also get the Brunch the following day. I think that is a great deal

Re: Hotel question (poll)
mine are a lot- 189.00 BUT it is 4th of july weekend out east and lots of weddings...so i knew it would be more than usual
I guess i expect to pay what hotels normally cost- which varies time of year and place

Re: Hotel question (poll)
I think what you expect to spend depends on a lot of factors. For example, people from this area (LI) know how expensive things are around here, and probably wouldn't think too much of spending $150 per night on a really nice hotel. However, someone from a less expensive area of the country (like Virginia - the middle of the state not the DC metro area) that have never lived or been to the NYC metro area would find $150 to be outrageous.
I went to Baltimore for a baseball game. By booking a hotel north of Baltimore and away from Washington, DC, I got a room for $55 a night, instead of $165 a night in Baltimore, and $175 a night in DC.
The day of the week also plays a role in cost of the hotel room, as does the location, and number of other hotels nearby.

139 sounds like a very decent, acceptable rate. I think you have to have to take into account where the hotel is located... Anythingn outside of the NY tri-state area is usually cheaper so when us LIers go out of town, we usually pay lower rates.

Re: Hotel question (poll)
It depends on where the wedding is. Long Island prices are way higher than rural anywhere.
Sad, but true.
This will be the first Long Island wedding for my family and they are in for a shock.

Re: Hotel question (poll)
It really depends on where and what day of the week, but on LI hotels are expensive!

It depends on where the wedding is. Hotels on LI are pricey. My guests will be paying $149.
