fi & i went looking at hotels for OOT guests yesterday. huntington country inn is in the perfect location - closest to wedding locale and walking distance to restaurants/bars/salons/shops. it's easy to get to so folks are less likely to get lost. plus there is a microwave & refridgerator in the room for people who don't want to/can't spend extra $$ on eating out. BUT, it felt kinda motor-lodge-ish to me & fi and rooms don't come close to hilton/sheraton/marriott/etc.
anyone have any opinions/experiences with huntington country inn?
if not, if you were in our situation, would you choose it despite lower quality rooms?

Re: hotel questions
Ive never been there or heard of them, but to be honest with you, if you are going with a low budget, give them 2 other options of a nicer place to stay.
I had my guest go to the Wingate Inn instead of the GC Hotel, b/c like you I didnt want them to have to spend so much on a room, WELL- I heard from my mom some of the family that was from OOT were disappointed with the hotel and would have rather of gone to the GC Hotel- Now so would have I but I was thinking of them when blocking a hotel and location for the after party. So in the future, Im going with what I would want to stay in if I had a choice but include the option for those who dont want to spend too much, and if you are having an after party, simply make up cards that say that the after party will be at so and so. let them make the choice if they want to go or not. Plus the wingate screwed up my reservation, I didnt have a Bridal Suite so to compensate they gave us that night and the night before the wedding my DH stayed there free too. I got screwed in the end. its not about the money but the memories.
