hotel quote..

just thought i'd share because i thought it was prety durn ridiculous.. i went to the sheratonr four points.. ya'll know the one on the LIE service road around NOTHING.. ... and asked for a quote for a block of rooms in febraury.. well the manager wasn't available but i figured the block group rate is a slight discount off of the reg room rate.. so i asked her what twas the reg room rate for feb.. and she told me.. $255 a night..

i stopped and said what? okay no.. not the sheraton manhattan.. i want this sheraton.. in plainview long island.. on the service road of the LIE next to a fabric shop.. with a view of absolutely NOTHING...

the lady at the counter shrugged her shoulders and said.. it's coming in at $255 a night..

but i don't think so.. i went home and looked it up online and kid you not for 2/1508- 2/17/08 at the sheraton 4 points was 255 a night.. i was hollaring...

i have rooms booked at the holiday inn plainview cause i'm getting married at crest hollow but i wanted to find another hotel to give my guests a choice ya know.. it's bad enough all of my oot are from down south so anythig over 55 dollars is a lot to them.. but 255? my geeshis

I THINK the Crest Hollow is nearby the Fox Hollow (still don't know Nassau county so well).

The best price I could get on a hotel in that are was the Executive Inn on Jericho Turnpike.. The price is $99 or $129 depending on the type of room you want.

unfortunately though probably most hotels will jack up the prices for v-day. In manhattan the prices are insane many of the hotels are $500 and not even for v-day

Definitely shop around obviously and hopefully youll find a hotel that wont raise the prices bc of v-day

yes they are on the same strip.. please do.. i will contact them.. i'd like to offer some sort of option that won't cause sticker shock for our guests..

haha....maybe we do need to really meet up. We lived in VA for may years so we're worried that our friends from there may think we got all citified on them by our hotel choices! If it isn't the Super 8 & $60 per night we're gettin too big for our britches
