Hotel recommendation in AC

Fh & I decided we are going to hold off on our actual honeymoon a year or so so we can really afford where we want to go and can take 2 full weeks. We thought maybe we would stay in AC for a few days and do some gambling before coming back to LI and having to leave again to come home to FL.. does anyone have any great hotel/ casino recommendations? Neither of us has ever been before so we have no clue which ones are good and which ones stink.

Thanks The $$ isn't that big of a deal since it's only going to be a few days and it will be during the week since we r getting married on a Sunday. I'll check them out thanks again!

yah if you can spend an extra few bucks specially since its a prehoneymoon and on a weekday.. id go for it.. they have great restraunts, the club mixx, b-bar ... etc
its also the cleanest and most 'upscale' (aka least number of weirdo old people spending their life savings on slots)...

you can take a cheap taxi to the boardwalk and see it but its not very nice/safe at night so id stay away during the night but day times ok

Thanks for the warning about the nighttime, don't wanna have a nightmarish mini honeymoon, LOL so I'll be sure to stay away.

I like the Borgata as well but the Tropicana is nice too..... good shopping inside their mall and right across the street at the pier mall!

have fun!

The Trop is great! It's been almost completley redone. Their restaurant/shops section downstairs is dubbed the Latin Quarter, it's been all done up do look like a street in Havana. They have great restaurants and a new club just opened there as well, I forget what its called, but they also have a bunch of other nightlife spots as well, live music, irish pub, etc. Just another option....

I agree Tropicana is where we stay. they have frequent deals for like $89 a night.

I love the Trop--you don't have to leave the hotel to have a good time because everything is in there.

Tropicana is wonderful!! they totally redone it like some of the girls said... its worth the money.. borgata is nice but wayyy too overpriced.. you might as well go to vegas for that much.

we are doing the same thing after our wedding b/c FH has no vacation time till Jan.... The Trop is the only place I will stay in AC.. evertime we go there we never leave the hotel because they have everything.... Harras is nice also.. they redid their pool area to look like a tropical place and its open all year round 24hrs a day and its enclosed in a glass dome so you can even swim in the winter..

borgata is excellent, and so is the tropicana, it was recently redone. FH and i always stay at the tropicana because we can't afford the borgata

The Borgata is the nicest hotel in AC. However, if you're going to be traveling around by car, it's not near anything else..... so, if you're going to be drinking at night, it's tough, and cabs can be pricey in AC.

The Tropicana is a very close second, it's all redone, has great stores and restaurants.... etc. Plus, it's right on the boardwalk, so, during the day you can walk around over there, from casino to casino, go to the beach... etc.

The Showboat, and Caesars also have nice rooms, and the great part about Showboat, Bally's, Caesars and Harrah's is they offer a free shuttle to and from each.... if you have a casino card, which I recommend getting at every casino!

Definitely try and eat at Carmines in Tropicana, the food is amazing, and, during the week, you can call the day of and get a reservation for that night, usually. They're really not that busy during the week.

As for gaming, if you're poker players, the Showboat is the way to go. Probably the easiest poker room in AC.

During the week, you're also likely to find $5 tables at most casinos...... check out the Hilton, and Showboat, I'm almost positive they both offer less expensive tables!

Have a great time!!!
