Hotel Recommendations for Hawaii...

Hi, Ladies! I started looking into hotels for our honeymoon- Hawaii, but there are sooo many to choose from! Just wondering if anyone has any good (or bad) recommendations.

Fh and I went to Hawaii last year.
In Maui we stay at a condo. Basically it is like an apartment with living room, kitchen, bathroom etc. We stayed at The Valley Isle Resort but there are several of these condos on the island. It was nice because we went to the supermarket and got stuff for breakfast and lunch and only went out to dinner which helped save money and it was nice to have a large space all to ourselves that was right on the beach.

In Kauai we stayed in the Sheraton and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. HUGE roaches and roasters crowing at 5 am.

I wouldn't personally recommend going to Oahu because it is VERY touristy-think a clean NYC. However I went there for work and stayed in the Sheraton Waikiki. Half of the hotel is newly renovated and half isn't. The half that isn't is GROSS so if you are thinking about staying there I would be sure you are getting a room in the newly renovated portion-which was gorgeous.

Thanks, Dr Meg! I will have to ask FH if he would want to stay in a condo for a few days. We both love to cook. I wouldn't mind cooking one or two days on my honeymoon, but he might, lol. Thanks for you input! I will steer clear of the Sheraton, lol.

my brother went for his honeymoon and I think stayed at the Hyatt in Maui. He loved it, said it was so nice, you can check it out on the Hyatt website and I think tripadvisor.com should have reviews and real photos from people who visited.
