depends on the hotel... mine has no fee, they are great!
some make you pay for rooms guaranteed and not filled... which stinks

Re: hotel room block question

mine has no fee if you get a block of 15 rooms or less ... otherwise, there's still no fee but you have to guarantee that a certain amount of rooms will be used.

The Executive Inn in Woodbury has free breakfast included for all guests AND has a shuttle to the venue (within a certain distance) ... i'm sure there are other hotels that have this :)

good luck

I have to guarentee 60% of my block, or pay the difference.

I'm using a Hilton Inn Express and there is no fee. We get free transportation all day to and from RH if we book 15 rooms, which we will.

Free continental breakfast is served and we can also use their lounge for our Welcome Dinner/Rehearsal Dinner.

I had to guarentee half of my rooms, but I only had to block 8.

I blocked 30...dont have to guarentee any, dont have to pay if they arent booked. Also get a breakfast and shuttle thrown in with it.
Just look at different hotels and see which gives you the most for your $$ (or rather your guest's $$)

late reply, but my hotel does not charge a fee, you don't have to guarantee that anything will be booked and they serve bkfast in the morning. The only thing is, guests have to book by one month prior to or they release the block and the guest will have to pay regular rate.
I only need about 5-6 rooms but the min is 10, so I blocked 10. I also have 2 larger rooms for the BP, including myself and FH. I'm using the Marriott Residence Inn in Plainview.

Shop around for the best rates and deals.

Mine is the same as above & I'm using the Huntington Hilton. They have a shuttle, but it's small (only 13 ppl). I booked the honeymoon suite for the night before and the night of, and it's free if 30 people book rooms, which will def happen b/c mostly everyone is OOT.
