Hotel Shuttles

Hotel Shuttles

We would like to book a shuttle service to go from the hotel to the hall (we're having the ceremony and reception in one place) and then from the hall to the hotel again at night.

Can you ladies tell me who you are using for this and if you don't mind, how much they charge?

Thanks!

I used Coach buses (do not recommend them) to do exactly what you described for my October '02 wedding it was about $800. We left this to about a month before our wedding and the cheaper places were all booked.

Re: Hotel Shuttles

$800?? For one pick up and one drop off?? That seems a bit expensive?? How long was the haul? How many stops were they required to do?

$800 seems to be out of my budget too. Thanks for the info though!

Re: Hotel Shuttles

Actually, I just doubled checked with DH (he did all the shuttle bus invetsigation). He said it was $600. We did see this as very high but shuttling our guests to and from the hall/hotel was a priority for us because we wanted to prevent people from drinking and driving.

Our trip was abaout 5-7 drive each way from hotel to hall. The way Coach (and many we called) works is you have to rent it for a min. number of hours. Even though in total I used the service for about 1 hour. Now, I heard their prices do go lower but not sure what that depends on.

I can say for the money I paid, Coach was so not worth it. They did not show up on time and the driver could not drive. My guests showed up 20 mins late for the cocktail hour and frazzled.

I ijust pulled up some of my notes from this time and here is something I found:

Classic Vans:
An 11 passenger van cost $75 + 20% gratuity=$90 (each way) or $50 per hour. The number is 631-567-5100. Ask for Christine. (We needed a bigger bus than that.)

I know we also called Peter Pan buses but they were all booked but I think their prices are comparable to what we paid.

I also tried calling local cab/taxi companies. Some offer bus/van services but many would not give a contract which worried us.

I know Limo companies rent vans. I don't know how much it is, but call your limo company and see if they have anything.

I'm not sure where you are getting married, but we were told by the watermill that the holiday inn provides a shuttle to and from the the catering hall...

Re: Hotel Shuttles

Thanks ladies. The hotel I've blocked with doesn't provide a shuttle. Although, I did hear that in earlier planning stages as well. And we're not using limos since we're getting married at the reception hall, but I may just call a few anyway.

I've also heard of Royalty limos on these boards -- does anyone know anything about them?

Re: Hotel Shuttles

We booked with Royalty, and got a shuttle through them. It will run for 1 1/2 hours before and after the wedding. The price was considerably less than those posted here..you should definitely go check them out!

We booked in a package, so I can't really give you the price because it was a deal for the shuttle and our limos...but I can tell you they are very reasonable. We are using a passenger van to make the runs, not one of the buses. It should be great!

Thanks Misty -- I'll give them a call!

Where are you getting Married...
The Watermill offers shuttle service free if you have 10 or more guests at the Hotel (Holiday Inn Express)

We're using Royalty Limos, but not for shuttles. I can tell you I've heard great things about them and they are reasonable.

Re: Hotel Shuttles

That's funny.. I used Royalty for my limos. We booked them way before we talked about providing shuttle service. When we called them to see if they book this service we were told they do not offer it!!!!!

Re: Hotel Shuttles

We're having it at Lands End. Unfortunately, they don't have an offer like Watermill. Thanks though.

Thanks for all the input. I will definitely give Royalty a call and let you know what happens!

Re: Hotel Shuttles

I am looking into this as well. Someone suggested www.busbank.com.
Niecey - did you use Coach Buses or Coachman's buses? Thanks!
