Hotel Weddings... locations, prices?? HELP!!!

So Joe and I have looked at 10, yes that's ten, catering halls. and There's only one that we love, but it's a tiny bit over our price range and then there's on we like in our price range but I've been told some bad things about it.

So anyway, we were talking last night about doing our reception in a hotel. I suggested this thousands of times, and he always shot me down, but now a co-worker said something and it's the most AMAZING idea ever.

So, I really like the huntington hilton, I've seen their ballroom in photos. Does anyone know general prices?

We are flexible with the date.

We do not want the hyatt in hauppauge, as his company christmas party is there and we went to a friends (HUGE) wedding there.

can anyone help me with suggestions?
I need hotel names, town, PRICES, websites, etc.

Thank you!

I'm getting married at The Garden City Hotel - it is breathtaking.

When are you looking to get married? Sat. night in June starts at $298 (including taxes and gratuity). They also throw in the penthouse suite for the night of the wedding It's an absolutely phenomenal room - reg. over $2200.

Here's their website:
The Garden City Hotel

Let me know if you want more details!!!

If you're looking for a cost efficient hotel, check out the Holiday Inn in Plainview. Its really nice and the price is amazing- they have a package deal if you're interested in that.

I've always been to a wedding at the Marriott in Uniondale and its gorgeous (dont know about price though- sorry!)

Re: Hotel Weddings... locations, prices?? HELP!!!

OMG...I had the WORST experience with the Huntington Hilton. They nickel and dimed us like crazy and the sales people there were awful. They acted as if their hotel was the only hotel on LI and could care less if we chose to give them our business. I even called up the director and he wasn't even accomodating. On our last phone converation, they even said 'dont worry we will have no problem filling the room'. Tacky!! Who says that to a customer?!
Long story short, they handed us a brochure at a bridal show with inclusions and when it was time to sign the contract and give the deposit (mind you FH and I flew in from Fl. just to meet and sign with them), they took out a few *key* inclusions from the contract and said that they had 'changed' their inclusions. Who hands out brochures promising certain things and then changes them within 2 weeks of a bridal show?!?!
Anyways, i'm sorry if I offended anyone. The hotel is very pretty, but the service was not. I ended up finding a nicer hotel and they matched the Hilton's price AND threw in stuff that the Hilton had 'changed' at the last min! Every bride should feel important on her day...make sure you find a RH that wants and appreciates your business :) Good luck!
FM me if you want more info on my new RH.

What's your guest minimum?

Re: Hotel Weddings... locations, prices?? HELP!!!

Our guest minimum is 150.

What hotel location did you choose?
I've heard mixed things about HH, but at this point... I just need something!

Instead of a hotel, have you thought about a winery?

Re: Hotel Weddings... locations, prices?? HELP!!!

it's been brought up, but we haven't really looked too far into that. I hear some of the wineries are pricey.

We have a $14,000 budget on the venue, we're inviting around 150-165 guests.
