hotels....?

In order to block off rooms....would my best bet be to drive around to a few hotels to check them out first and then talk to someone at the hotel for a group rate. My wedding is at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced place that is nice. If you already know prices that would also be great. Thanks so much!

there was a recent post about this...
someone mentioned that the inn at fox hollow was about $189.
executive inn about $99.
both on jericho turnpike close to the crest hollow.
