under 100 a night is going to be really tough for a decent place. My guest are staying at the red roof in in westbury, exit M2E off the meadowbrook. The rooms were 114$ a night, including the taxes.
We offered our guests 2 hotels for our wedding in April of 2001. The Inn at Great Neck offered a very good discount, I think it brought the price down to $140 or $160 - much better than their $200+ but still high. The other option was the Adria / Ramada on Northern Blvd. near the Cross Island X-way. I think we got a rate of somewhere between $95 and $110. Rates have probably gone up, but I'd recommend trying them. It's not a real fancy hotel, but the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. (and parking was FREE!)
