Hotels in Hawaii?

Hey girls...i am an 2010 bride! and i am in the process of planning my honeymoon... me and FH don't even know where to start. Do you recommend any hotels? We def. want to go to Maui. I heard the Fairmont is a really nice hotel. Anyone ever hear of it or any other good hotels there? TIA!!

We *almost* booked there the first time we went to Maui. We decided against it because we like to be closer to Lahaina on Kaanpali Beach.

However, the Fairmont looked amazing. I know it's an all-suite hotel. I wanted to book one of the villas with the private plunge pool but it was

We thought about going there for the HM, but decided that we liked being on Kaanapali too much.

There are beautiful hotels in Maui. It really depends on where you want to stay. The Fairmont and Four Seasons are in the Wailea area.

If you want to be closer to Lahaina or up on Kaanpali Beach, there's the Sheraton (which I personally think has one of the best hotel beaches on Maui), a Marriott and the Hyatt Regency (where FH and I are staying for the second time).

Honestly, everywhere in Maui is amazing and you can't go wrong. I can't wait to get back there in another 4½ months!

The Four Seasons is amazing.... I stayed there and they treat you like royalty. They actually walk around the pool offering cold towels and avian spritz.

For my honeymoon we are staying at the Grand Wailea next door to the Four Seasons. First off its a tad cheaper. Secondly and more importantly, there is a lot more to do there. I love the Four Seasons but FH would get bored. I am concerned about fighting for a chaise at the Grand Wailea though. Along with the Fairmont they are in Wailea. Wailea is the dessert, meaning it rains the least but is the least lush and green.

The Ritz in Kapalua is beautiful. Kapalua is my favorite side of the island its lush but sunny, it has a lot of rain storms, but they last about 5 min and if you move 10 ft. away your out of them. So its green but sunny and has one of the nicest beaches on the island. But the Kapalua Bay Hotel is gone now, which was where I liked to stay. The Ritz gets a tad windy.

Kaanapali is close to Lahaina and has a lot going on, but it was the first part of Maui developed (because it was where the King settled) so its the most built up and touristy. But it was the first developed because it has the nicest beach. We never stay there but I hear good things about the Hyatt.

I would try to go to more then one island if you can.

FIY as for beaches in Wailea, the only good one in that area is shared by the Four Seasons and the Grand Wailea. The Fairmonts beach is not supposed to be to good.

We are staying at Fairmont. My friend stayed there a few years ago and said as they were eating breakfast on their terrace one morning, they saw dolphins swimming in the ocean. My FSIL stayed there, too. She is very picky, but gave it excellent reviews. She also stayed at the Four Seasons. She liked that hotel better, but said it was much more expensive than the other hotels.

I heard the Hyatt has a lot of families (meaning KIDS). We wanted to be in a nice, quiet hotel.

We went for our honeymoon to Maui and Kauai. We stayed at both hyatts in both islands and the grand hyatt in Kauai is absolutely AMAZING!!!! Dont get me wrong the one in Maui was nice also! In Maui , you HAVE to eat dinner at Mamas fish house around sunset, I had the most amazing mahi mahi ive ever had in my life!!! You will have an awesome time! Make sure you go to borders and get the blue books that says maui revealed and kauai revealed, they will help you tremendously!!! Oh and make sure you go to Kimos in maui and get the hula pie! yum
