Can anyone recommend a hotel in the JFK area to stay the night before we fly out?

there are a lot off the Belt near the airport... whether or nto they're nice is another story.
If you can go a little further out on the south shore, i like the Hampton Inn in Rockville Centre. there is also a best western (I think it was a holiday inn) in RVC, but the hampton inn is much nicer.

This isn't the nicest area to stay at but there is a Marriot and a Hilton Garden Inn that's pretty nice.

I don't know how great it is, but a lot of pilots and stewardess's stay the exectutive inn on the lynbrook rockville centre border on the corner of sunrise highway and ocean ave.

I live in Howard Beach....so I can tell you that the area surrounding JFK is not the greatest- the hotels are mainly used for people traveling on business....or people looking for a 'short stay' if you know what I mean!!
Staying in Lynbrook or Rockville Center isn't a bad idea since it's only 10-15 minutes from JFK.

the Executive Inn in Lynbrook is undergoing major renovations now.it doesn't even look like it's open

i believe the executive inn is open, but not the exec motel. they are redoing the executive motel. i heard it to make it bigger.

i also live in HB and wouldnt recommend any of those hotels

I don't think the hotels near JFK are nice at all. I would try to avoid them if I could.

my mom actually works at athe hampton inn at jfk and although the surrounding area is horrible the hotel is nice and the holiday inn next door has a nice restaurant and bar believe it or not!!
