My church is in Mineola and my reception is in Roslyn. The only hotels I can find are in the Westbury area, which is fine, but they are insanely expensive!!! The cheapest rate I have found is $159/night (at the Hilton Garden). I also tried the Red Roof Inn (which some of the girls on here have said is pretty gross so I think that's out anyway), and the Holiday Inn. One of the brides on here rented the Hilton Garden 2 weeks before my wedding and got a rate of $139/night!! Apparently it has to do with the occupancy at that time or something (that's what the lady there told me when I asked about the price difference). Anyone have any other suggestions?? TIA!

Re: Hotels near Mineola??
ps: the way they work is they'll give u a date ur guests can book by....they'll let u block (i THINK) about 20rooms at a time...once those rooms book, they'll release an additional 20 and so on. they were really very convenient!

Same here.
The prices you have been quoted are the same as I got.
What you should do is contact the LI Visitors Bureau. On their web site, they have a form you can fill out about your event / travel plans and hotels in the area will fax or email you proposals / proposed rates. This is how I got the Wingate's info.

We had guests stay at the Fairfield Inn in Syosset. It's part of the Marriott chain. They gave us a good price (less than $130) and let us block a bunch of rooms. They were also really, really nice when it came time to drop off our OOT welcome bags.
