We are going to Universal in November. Any nice hotels near there on the affordable side? TIA.

Re: Hotels near Universal Studios
When I go in Feb, I am staying at Radisson Resort Parkway - it is a lot closer to Disney. I think it is around $100 per night.
Have fun on your trip

Re: Hotels near Universal Studios
DH and I stay at the Country Inn and Suites whenever we go down by Disney/Universal. It is located by everything, right in the center. We always get the whirlpool suite. It is the best. The hotel is very very nice and cozy and CLEAN!! I think we paid $99 a night. Their regular rooms are also very nice. But having that whirlpool right in the room at the end of the day was SOOOOO relaxing. They also offer a cute breakfast every morning and there are a bunch of restaurants right outside the hotel that are good, especially the Manhattan China Buffet, really yummy. Here is a pic of the whirlpool tub for two in their suite, don't mind the mess, we're slobs!!

DH and I love this hotel. We drove cross country on our honeymoon and stayed in every one of them along the way we could find. They are so nice, and CLEAN, I stress clean because we have stayed in so gross places. It is such a country and homey feel to the place and the whirlpool was awesome with some candles lit and a glass of wine at the end of the day!!

I don't know what the price difference is, but I think if you stay on Universal property they have their own cool verison of fastpass where you get to go first on every line all day as a resort guest. That might be worth the extra $$ if you can swing it
Speaking of lines, Universal's 'No Line, No Wait' program for all on-property guests is probably worth any cost differential-- and then some. Here's how it works: Guests simply show their room keycards to ride attendants at nearly all of the attractions at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida and walk through the special 'Universal Express' entrance to the front of the line. Unlike Universal's regular line management program, hotel guests don't have to make any reservations and the program is good all day, every day. Talk about pampering! It's a ride lover's dream come true. This perk is especially welcome during the early summer and other peak seasons.

Those three hotels were from $200-350 for when we are staying, and we are staying 4 nights. So we were thinking more like $100 a night. I actually have free passes to Universal with my credit card that gets us front of the line privileges. Thanks though!

Yeah, they don't have any moderate ones like Disney. The cheapest is the Hard Rock, which is still over $200, but there are several that are right around the entrance to Universal.
