I swear this works! Go on the Long Island Visitors Bearau website. LICVB
You fill out a RFP for hotels for you wedding. And proposals will come flying in!!!!
I sent in mine about 2 weeks ago and I've had about 15 hotels contact me, some I didn't even know existed!
Just a word of advice though, when the propsals come in check the hotels website for their regular rates for those dates, some of them charge the same amount. Others actually are gving your guests a pretty good deal. Also, I wouldn't go with anyone who will charge you for any 'unused' rooms in your block.

I'm meeting with the Hilton Garden Inn this weekend. On the website the rates were very high but they gave me a great group rate.
