Ugh - I checked out a bunch and don't have any great answers for you. We went with the Best Western East End in Riverhead because it seemed the most reliable and clean. We almost went with the Inn at Quogue but found the service to be terrible. They refused to let us see any rooms and were impossible to get in touch with. My FI checked out the Shinnecock Mist - said it was okay but small. They are also in the process of changing hands so weren't sure what was going to happen.
the only hotel i know of is the hampton inn, it is very quaint but beatiful a little pricey depending on the time of year. its right on 27a
never heard of Bowens. I am actually having some troubles with this also. I think its gonna have to be the Best Western East End, although they quoted me $180 per room (thats a bit much I think).
Yes Bowens by the Bay is in Hampton Bays, I heard they upgraded it.
I also just heard that they are looking to open a Holiday Inn in spring 2005 near the traffic circle by 25a. Has anyone else heard about this new hotel?
