So I just secured rooms near the Vineyard Caterers @ the Best Western and the Holiday Inn Express. I have to admit, I am a bit SHOCKED at how much money it is per night. (one hotel is over 200 dollars per night)
With that being said, any suggestions of alternate nearby, clean hotels near mattituck, cutchogue, aqubogue, riverhead? I just feel so bad for my guests that it costs this much $$$!!!!
Help!!!

Yeah, this is pretty much the norm. I Blocked rooms at the Best Western not to bad. I know that it is lees than Holiday Inn, but owned by the same people. Good luck.

Unfortunately there are not that many options out there, which is why they can get away with charging so much I blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn in Riverhead for my wedding. I searched online and found lower rates on some internet travel sites for the weekend of my wedding. When I told the holiday inn that I had found it for less than the price they were offering to block the rooms at they matched the lower rate. I think it brought it down from 219 or 229 to 199. Not too much but every little but helps! Good luck.

Hi, I am also having my wedding at Vineyard Caterers and had the same issue. The Best Western and the Holiday Inn are overpriced, in my opinion. But, they are the only big name hotels that are out there. If you don't mind your guests staying far away, check out the Radisson near MacArthur Airport. Their rates were way better, although it is a good half an hour away. They also won't provide a shuttle like the BW or HI will...

I had my wedding out east and I recommend the Holiday Inn Express over the Best Western by leaps & bounds. The people at the BW are TOTAL idiots. I had a lot of problems with them. See my review for details.
PS - I had Blue Daisy do my wedding She was the BEST BEST BEST!!!

Yeah, ditto on the Best Western people being idiots. I have had issues already. But, it was cheaper than the Holiday Inn and they had a restaurant and bar. I will just have to stay on top of them!

**Christine is great! She is so sweet and willing to help with anything. Right now I have her booked to stay only an hour into the reception, but I might change that and ask her to stay until the end!

BW is so messed up. I got my contract and it was for 2007 NOT 2008. I called them and Kristin hasn't gotten back to me.
Christine is AMAZING. love, love her. My favorite vendor so far!

Yeah, Kristen doesn't respond very quickly. I found if you leave a message on her personal voicemail AND email her, you'll get a response.

Do you mind sending me an FM of her email address? She is NOT responding to me at all and i am afraid she's going to pull 'oh I gave you a 2007 rate instead of 2008'

well I am really not sure the prices of this place but I am gonna try to get some of my friends to say if they still have room...I think they let you have beach partys when you get back from the wedding and it would be a great place to nurse a hangover the next day! very close to the vineyards too!!! http://www.northforkmotels.com/mobabout.html

Re: Hotels on the East End/Vineyards/Help!!
I just looked into these Hotels also & I thought the same thing about them being over priced. We also looked into the Hampton Inn in Farmingville (Exit 63 off the LIE) and they were a lot cheaper like $50 a night cheaper!! But everyone wants to stay closer to the RH so we will probably book one of those 2 in Riverhead. Like someone else said they know that there are few hotels out there so they can charge higher!!

They let you block rooms at both hotels? I was told that you can't do that you can only block at 1 or the other since there owned by the same people.
