Against advice we decided to take the chance and book the hotel and it turned out great!!! Wound up getting a $200 a night room for $60 a night... Called the hotel and everything to make sure and it all came out legit...

Re: Hotwire Update....
if you really are staying in silver spring.....my advice would be to take the metro into downtown d.c. there are a handful of decent restaurants and a fairly new DSW and some other stores in silver spring. some parts of silver spring are nice, some parts are shady. if you find out exactly where the hotel is, i can give you more info.

Were staying at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Silver Spring... 8777 Georgia Ave Rt.97 on the website it says its 2 blocks from the new metro.... Its supposed to be a nice neighborhood.... A lot of nearby restaurants and stuff... should be a lot of fun...

ok, I know exactly where it is. It's like a block away from the apts where I used to live. You shouldn't have any problems getting to the metro or any of the restaurants over there. This website will give you some more information

Re: Hotwire Update....
i love hotwire! and their customer service is great too!
usually, if you have time, you can compare the location and ratings on trip advisor, and you have a pretty good idea about which hotel they are suggesting.
im a big travel bargain person, so i like playing with naming my own price at priceline too! :)
