How much do you think a couple needs to make to afford to buy a house worth 350K?300k?
We are just trying to figure things out....

Try looking on bank websites for mortgage calculators. It all depends on what your downpayment is; and the mortgage rate you get; what your property taxes are (they're usually included in the mortgage) oh and if you have PMI (for putting down less than 20%)
If your mortgage is $300K (after downpayment) expect to pay round $2K/mo maybe a little more depending on the different variables above. So comfortably anywhere between $50K-$70K pp but then that depends on what your other bills are (cars; student loans; credit cards). There's no easy answer. Check out the mortgage calculators online and you can put your own information and get a better idea frmo your own situation. GL

it all depends on your down payment.... we're buying a house worth more than that right now but we wouldn't be able to afford to buy anything if we didn't have the down payment do
