House band, flowers ect?

Should I atleast look at the ones the hall recommends?

You can, but always remember that they are recommended because of a kick-back. It doesn't mean they are better by any means.

my hall never made a big deal about thier house venders...I didnt even know that the DJ we booked was a house vendor until it came time to pay for the vendors meals and I was told that they were a house DJ.

Some halls are very pushy about them and others arent. Use your own judgement when booking them!

Hi- I know Russo's offers Classie Sounds as their house DJ. They are great. Yu should definitley see them and get Steven as your MC. he is the owner. Unfortunately they are not available for my New Years Eve wedding!!! Good Luck.

My hall gave us a folder with our contract in it when we signed and in the back were advertisements for different vendors. We booked the house videographer not because they were advertised in the back but because their link for their website was contacted to the website for the hall. They did the hall's website.

I asked the hall for some suggestions for vendors that we really didn't have a clue on. It was a good place to start, but by no means do you have to use them. It's a good way to comparision shop.

I would at least look at them. Sometimes it is a plus to have a vendor that is use to working at your site.

I dont think we looked at one house vendor. In fact we never looked at the sheet the place put in the folder. House recommends cause they make money! That is the only reason, it does not say anything about the quality or budget or anything like that! But if you research them a bit they might very well be worth checking out!
