Hi ladies, need some input on these neighborhoods...FH and I come from the North Shore but we are looking for a house in one of the above, so which one is the best according to schools, people, commute to the city etc... TIA

DH and I bought a house in Massapequa and I love it there. It really is a nice town. We don't have kids yet, but the school district is supposed to be a good one. Definitely go some research and drive around each town during the day and night to see how you feel about it.
I am a North Shore girl also and DH is from South Shore. He wanted to live on the South Shore and I told him I would only live in Massapequa and thankfully it worked out for us.

I'm from Bellmore and DH is from Merrick, and both of these towns are great. Good schools, nice people, really close to LIRR and the commute is only about 50 minutes, less if you get an express train. And less than 10 minutes from Jones Beach, close to the Roosevelt Field Mall, so it's a perfect location because you're near everything.

I am from Seaford and I think that town and the overall surrounding towns are great (Massapequa, Wantagh, Bellmore, Merrick).. lots of nice parks closeby, the beach is 15 min away, and great schools!

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these towns. You always hear about the good schools in Wantagh and Massapequa. with wantagh if you look there be sure it's wantagh school district not Levittown - - cause I think levittwon taxes might be higher. you should also try to determine that too among those towns - - if any place may be a bit lower than the others.

I teach in North Merrick so I voted for Merrick. Great schools and amazing teachers

THose are really good towns as long as you stay in those specific school districts. We found a house in East meadow (barnum woods) which if you ask your realtor is really good also. Good Luck in your search!!

We are looking in the same areas and would be happy with any of those towns. We live in Massapequa now, and the advantage of that is you get to go to Tobay beach, which is 15 min away and a great beach !
