House of Brides

I just came across this website...and EVERYTHING is cheaper then everywhere I've seen!!
www.HouseOfBrides.com
Has anyone heard of this...? Is it recommended if we do DIY alterations??? I'm trying just about everything to save the girls money... Please help! TIA!!!

I used them, but didn't get alterations done there. Their prices are awesome! But when they say like 3 months for arrival, that is true. 3 months isn't bad, but just don't expect it earlier than what they say. I also used davids bridal and thebridalstoreonline.com and they shipped within 3 days! GL!

How would the alterations work... do you send it back...?? Do they have a location?? Sorry, I am completely clue-less on this!!

I'm not really sure about it, but I assume you have measurements taken at your local tailor, and give it to house of brides. The only problem is that NOTHING is refundable or exchangeable. So what I did was buy regular sizes, and had it tailored elsewhere, it is cheaper too.

That works... My girls will be sooo much happier spending less!! Now, one last ?... If I woud want the train taken off, would I need to do that through the tailor, OR, could I say that's what I want when ordering it..??

No, I just don't want it. I want them to have a dress that they can wear to future weddings and NOT look like a BMs dress...they all already have too many of those! lol. So, I want it taken off...be completely round... Already spoke to a birdal shop and they said they could do it. I just don't know if this website thing will.....

I don't know I have heard some bad things about HOB, but check out Netbride--we used them for our BM dresses and they were great! The dresses actually came a month earlier than they predicted and it worked out great!
