houses and parties, oh my!

houses and parties, oh my!

We're going to see houses this afternoon I can't wait - I feel like I've vetted so many of these places based off online info but now we get to see the real deal...hopefully we see something we like because I can't handle our scuzzy landlord anymore!

Then tomorrow is our engagement party - I still didn't complete all the cake pops but almost there. Got a brand new dress after the other one got too big, new giannttt heels, and I am ready

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!!

Re: houses and parties, oh my!

Thanks everyone!

Looking at houses was fun, but we will NOT be using the same realtor. She was the budget version of the mom on 2 and a half men. Really rude, rushed through everything, doesn't know the area at all, and really insulting towards the area we want to live - nope, it's not Scarsdale, but she didn't need to be a crazy racist about everything
Hopefully we can line up some more viewings soon; someone we work with gave us the card of her realtor that she raves about.

Engagement party was awesome Our parents had met each other briefly, but the whole rest of the families got to meet so it was really nice. Elisa's in Bellmore was great to us, and helped us out a lot because one of my BMs is gluten-free, I have a vegan best friend, and my sister's boyfriend brought his kids who basically wouldn't eat anything on the brunch menu. Loved seeing our dads come out of their shells and walk around and mingle. My nieces were a smash and really helped everyone bond over their ridiculous cuteness lol.

My favorite part of the whole party was just the fact that my grandparents came down (well, my dad went up and got them and brought them to LI) from Hunter. They're in their 90s and it was a trek, especially for my grandfather, but they came and I was super excited

Of course, we have no pictures yet because FH & I just ran around all afternoon and barely had time to eat, much less sit, but when our parents and friends take some I'll put them up. I have cake pop pics too haha I have to add them to my DIY album.

SIGH all in all a pretty good weekend, now....just gotta get a house so we can host another family event!

Stinks that you had a bad experience with your realtor. Unfortunately most realtors are 20 years older then their clients and that's what I decided to become one, being 27 I can relate much better to first time home buyers. Let me know if you need any help :)

My realtor is horrible!! (selling) She wouldn't call me when she was showing my apartment she would just show up and start opening the door and I would be like 'ummm can I help you?'...like what if I was in my underwear or something!!

You can always get out of your contract with her. That is completely out of line!!!! If you need any help selling let me know :)
