What do you girls think of this? FH got me my pots for Christmas (actually, I physically purchased them and I'm going to transfer the money from his acct to mine ) My mother cannot for the life of her understand why I'd want something for the HOUSE for MY gift. What do you girls think?

if it's something you wanted - who cares if it's a mop or a dvd....
that's my theory...i hate giving gift card gifts - but if it's something the other person wants - i suck it up and deal....

I thought of the same thing but then my mom was like this is your last year being single get stuff for yourself. If your happy getting stuff for house then go for it!!!! I'm just going to be selfish for a little bit longer.

whenever someone asks what I want for Christmas I say 'china' b/c my pattern is a seasonal christmas item. I also point them to my bridal registries in general... it's stuff i want, so who cares if it's for the house? it's better than a sweater i'll never wear..

That's EXACTLY what I got for my present. I went to the store with FH and he bought them for me.
I'd rather have that than more clothes and jewelry that I'll never wear. At least this is something that you'll use

i think that a gift is something you want and appreciate so if its for the house, who cares its still for you and makes you happy
my mom asked if i wanted something from my registry or something for myself but i didnt decide yet

i think its a great idea, why waste money on more clothes thta you dont need or something like that...instead, get something that you want and need! and it goes both ways, i know im going to be getting like crock pots and stuff like that for xmas and my bday, but then FH is getting tools and stuff
