Housewarming Gift

Housewarming Gift

I have a friend that recently moved out of state and bought her first home. What is the best/most unique housewarming gift you received! I have thought of a plant, a windowsill herb garden, cookbooks...

Thanks!

A gift certificate to Home Depot or Lowes. That was the best gift when we moved into our house.

One of my favorite gifts I received was a birdhouse. Not sure where you can get them but there must be an internet site where they will send them to someone.

Gift Certicicate to Linen's N things was a nice gift. I second the Home Depot of Lowe's gift cards too.

One cool part of a gift I rec'd was a Zagats for LI. Since I am a city girl who always had to have a Zagat's guide laying around - I thought that was different. That same person also got us real cool BBQ tools from Brookstone.

I have given custom doormats from William Sonoma - with their address or name on it.

I mostly got gift cards to Home Depot - very helpful.

Ou most fun and silly gift was a karaoke machine. Our friends gave it to us because they said we are the most fun couple they now! We get good use out of it too (although I refuse to sing).

I love plants too!

I would just stay away from personal taste gifts. I don't like when people buy my accessories for my home like show towels, table centerpieces or artwork - usually never my style and then I feel obligated to display.

I looked at the WS doormat and its really cute. It has seashells on it and my friend just moved to FL so its perfect.

So, its $69. I will spend that, I'm just wondering does it look worth it? Or should I find something of better value? I don't want her to think its a cheap gift. Thanks!

That is what I got except with a different design they are $$ but they are nice.so I say it doesn't look cheap - but hey I recommended the idea and I sent them to 2 friends and both friends loved them - plus once they see WS - they know you spent good money on it! lol
