We are going out to get ours after dinner tonight! I think we are going to try Franks. Any suggestons for good trees in the South Shore Nassau County area?

There is a nursery on Newbridge road in Bellmore.. they have these pretty christmas lights everywhere and the trees look very full, but i dont know how much they cost.. If you are going south on newbridge road, its on the left side after the 7-11 and its about 6 blocks BEFORE sunrise...

We got ours in Moriches. It was great a week ago but now it is getting fragile. I water it. I am hoping it will last until christmas.

We just got ours today from Franks on Rt 347 in Smithtown. It is a Douglas Fir - super dense and gorgeous! I'll post pics when it's finally decorated!

We got ours yesterday at a place on Edgewood Ave in St. James. We get our tree there every year.

We actually picked our out and cut it down at a huge tree farm type of place in Baiting Hollow. It was fun, we went with another couple. They give you a little hay ride to where all the trees are, and you rent a saw and chop away. Of course I just picked it out and my hubby chopped it down .

Are you using 'Prolong' in the water for the tres? It's that stuff that supposed to keep the tree alive longer?
Also, is your heat on too high, or is your tree near a fireplace of heater?
Our tree keeps for over a month, as long as we keep filling up the water, adding the Prolong, and keep the heat low.

I got mine there last year. They do have beautiful trees, a little on the pricey side but they def were worth it.

We got ours at a nursery on Broadway in Mass. My MIL and FIL have been getting theirs there for years. They get the trees from Canada. It's a really nice tree we got!

Okay, I know you said South Shore Nassau County area .. but since others have named places not even close to that .. I'm going to put up another vote for the place we've been going .. Walsh Nursery in Dix Hills, at the east corner of Deer Park Avenue, south of the Long Island Expressway.

Kathy, I have been putting the tree preserver in. I have had the temp set at 60 degrees. I think maybe because it is partially in the sun so I now have the blinds closed. This is the first time it has ever happend so I am wondering if I had the pick of the draw at the tree mill. But I will never stop getting a real tree. I love the smell.

Well we decided to go with Frianks. We put our tree in a corner so we didnt need anything too big. We found a beautiful tree in thier $20.00 section! I couldn't believe it.
We had a tree trimming party on Sat. The tree looked beautiful. About 2 hours after everyone left John and I were sitting in the den and we hear a crash - The Tree Fell! . I was so upset we lost many ornaments including one we had personalized at Disney on our HM . I got over it. Luckily it happened when no one was around.
