First we get to the peds office this morning, and the assistant is weighing her, and she says, 17 lbs, 4 ounces....we were like, wow, that's it (she was 16 pounds two months ago). So, then she says, well, maybe it's because she's not in the middle of the scale...so she moves her and now she is 18 pounds.....if we didn't say anything, she would have written down 17 4, which is a little low for her. THEN, they say, sorry, she's only getting two of her shots today, we 'ran out' of the other one. HUH??? So, now I have to drag my kid out (it would be too long to wait until the next appointment) in 5 -6 days for another shot? Why not just call me yesterday and reschedule the appointment? I was so upset I could have cried right there in the office. Then I asked her if she ever heard of the herb to increase milk production, and she says no I haven't.....shouldn't they know these things, everybody seems to know about it, it's feenugeek or something like that?? ugh.

I would be annoyed more that I'd have to come back, when they could have easily rescheduled, than that she weighed her wrong.
However, I was sooo annoyed last night when I arrived for my 5:45pm appt, and wasn't seen until 7!

Yes. It's that (I can't spell it).
Can't you just hold off on her shot until next visit? Andrew only gets at most 2 shots per visit and we have chosen to hold off or delay some in that aspect, so you should have no problems.

I was thinking that it's not such a bad thing that the baby only got 2 shots. I think a baby should only get 2 per visit - both pediatricians I've used have felt that way b/c if there is some kind of reaction, you can narrow it down better. In regards to the fenugreek, a friend of mine said just recently that she mentioned it to her ped and they also hadnt heard of it. I wonder if the doctors really havent or they dont want to render an opinion on it since it's an herb and not exactly within their scope of expertise. I mean, I would think a pediatrician whose occupation is directly related to the topic of breastfeeding would surely have heard of it.

Ditto to everything that Liz said...and, to be honest, I would not be annoyed about them 'running out' of the third shot...it happens more often than you think, and like Liz said, it's not such a bad thing anyway...

I don't know, I work in a doctors office, and when vials of a vaccine are getting low, we make sure to order more....I just feel like an oversight like that should not happen, or if it does, give me a call and tell me to reschedule. She actually got 3 shots at 2 and 4 months, and she was fine....I just hate having to bring her back there again. In the grand scheme of things, I guess I was over reacting....

I think just the fact of having to bring the baby out in this freezing weather again would piss me off.
