Stacey, this whole thing just makes me so sick. What are we teaching our children that allows them to act this way? And what does it say about a society that the victims, innocent young men, are considered the outcasts and troublemakers. This whole incident is a terribly sad commentary on the type of behavior that parents have allowed to become the norm.
May we all learn from this incident. Unfortuntately it appears many of the people associated with Mepham haven't.

Re: How are these kids not charged as adults???
I think the situation is disgusting and that the community in general should be ashamed of themselves. I grew up in that district and it appalls me that they were more upset over the cancellation of the football season or the firing of the coaches, than the crimes committed against the victims.
Mepham Pride? Pride over what? Being sodomizing, gutless sex offenders? They also seem to have some homosexual tendendcies. Did any of you ladies ever think of doing something like that to one of your gal pals - maybe members of the cheerleading squad? I don't think so!! That's what they are - I don't care what you want to label their crimes. You are what you are. The fact that they are shielded by the justice system (as 'juiviniles) is a disgrace as well. I'm sure that the punishment would fit the crime if they were charged as adults. Just imagine what kind of goodies Bubba would be puttin' in their crapper if they were sent to a real incarcaration facility. That to me would be true justice!!
