We finally had the big talk tonight and now I am positive that $$ does not grow on a tree in the backyard! I have never been a fan of budgets so I never made one for the wedding. I just assumed my fairy g-dmother was going to wave her wand. AHHHH, I learned she was a figment of my imagination too. How are you all paying for the big day? Credit Cards? Savings?

we saved before we got engaged and continued to save during the wedding planning. it takes work to save for a wedding - on long island, they don't come cheap. ou have to buckle down and you may have to create a budget...it helped me a lot to have one!

We saved a lot but had an unexpected emergency..no it was not a handbag. We built our savings back up..but it is just turning out to be so expensive!

I think it helps that at least it's not all due at once! In some ways I think it's good that some of the vendors get paid in installments- makes it seem a little more manageable!

YOu have another year... keep building the savings back up and you should be OK!
We did the same as palebride... we have all the money saved but we still pay using credit cards for protection.. and we pay the full balance each month.
