How are you addressing invites ??
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
OR
Mr. and Mrs. John and Judy Smith
I prefer the 2nd, I don't like leaving the woman's name out, but for some of my guests it gets long b/c the names are long.

I agree with you about not leaving out the woman's name but I think it all depends on the who you know, the Mr or the Mrs. If I know the woman from work then i'll address it with the second one. But if I know the Mr then i'll address with the 1st.
I will be addressing our invitations in about 2 weeks and will be printing them off our computer. It will save us some money.
Most of them are family or we know both of them well.
Older or more traditional guests will get:
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Younger friends and family will get:
John & Judy Smith
When I addressed mine I really didn't want to leave the woman's name out (i really dislike that tradition) -- However, every invitation I've ever gotten (I went to 10 weddings just last year) - has been addressed to Mr. & Mrs. John Doe. Not only that, but since I've been married, all of my mail - even from relatives/friends, has been addressed the same way. I know it's annoying, but I think that's just the way it's done. I wound up addressing my invites that way too. I was just really into the etiquette thing while I was planning.
Honestly though,as I'm thinking about it, the people who NOTICE the envelope are probably the women who do not like their names left out. I really doubt many (if any) people will even notice if you include the woman's name, so if you are more comfortable doing it that way, go for it!
Would you write
'Mr. and Mrs. John and Judy Smith'
or just
'John and Judy Smith' ???
Thanks.
Need to check what is proper etiquette on that before writing them out but my feeling is I would probably use
Jack and Judy Smith
because I don't usually adress my friends as Mr. & Mrs. and it would take up a lot of room.
For my Save the Date Postcards I only used the first names of my friends like
Jack & Judy
and
Mr & Mrs Smith
for the older relatives.
