How are you all buying your veils if your dresses have not come in yet??

How are you all buying your veils if your dresses have not come in yet??

I am waiting for my dress to come in to have my veil made to ensure that the color matches perfectly. My dress is Oyster and they do not sell oyster color veils. How are you all buying your veils without having a swatch of your dress??

I ordered my veil from the same place where im getting my dress. They told me they would send a swatch of my dress to the people that make my veil.

easy, I'm wearing my mothers veil, we actually brought it to the dress shops when we were looking, and it matched perfectly!

I did the same thing - but i tried on my veil the same day i tried on my dress

I have a swatch. It does help. I would have bought the wrong color. I had gone to Barrons at Tri County and they held my swatch under the different shade of tulle. The man showed me what looked best. Now when I get my headpiece, I will bring it with me to Barrons to get the right thing.

To be perfectly honest, I winged it. I also got mine at Barrons, when the dress comes in I'll try it on with the veil to make sure it matches. It doesn't have to be exact.

I figure it this way, if I'm not completely satisfied with my veil then I'll take if for the reception. I'm certainly not going to let it ruin my day!!

My dress is white..my veil is white..so if its off a little no biggie...its sheer, nobody is going to notice but me

I went to Barrons and bought a two tier veil, white and borrowing my FSIL cathedral veil for church as my something borrowed.
As long as its white, its going to match. I know w/Platinum white it can be iffy and of course an ivory color too.

I couldnt wait, Im a slacker as it is!

Yea, I'm having a good day. Just think of it this way, in 10-15 years when we're sitting at PTA meetings talking about our weddings we're not going to be focusing on how precisely our veils matched our dresses. Or at least I know I'm not!

You are right. Barrons had two or three shades of Ivory that would have stood out as quite different had I purchased a veil in either shade. Ivory can be light or it can be a french vanilla/bordering on yellow color. It may not make a difference to the naked eye (in which case it wouldnt matter) but in pictures with lighting, it could. My dress is 'pearl' which is barely off white but enough to see a difference in my shoes - and my feet show when I walk in my dress.

Me too. My dress is ivory, and I bought an ivory veil online. I tried it with my gown in August and it matches.
