How are you choosing your bm dresses?

How are you choosing your bm dresses?

I'm just curious are you just going to a shop saying 'I like this dress' and making your girls buy it? Or do they have a say? One of my bms is being a pain in the arse and i kinda wanna be like 'well your gonna wear what i want you to wear so shut up'? Is that wrong? Hows everyone going about this? Also in terms of color, please tell me they have no say?

My situation might be easier; cause i'm only have 2 girls-but i plan on picking on the dress that i like (and the color) that they'll wear. Of course making sure that it suits both of them and looks great on them.

I'll be picking the color, most definitely. I have 7 girls, all shapes and sizes so I need to make sure the dress is 1) flattering on all of them, and 2) they feel comfortable in it. Some of my girls are big-chested so strapless may not be an option for them- I would hate for them to feel uncomfortable all day, pulling at their dress to make sure they're not exposed!

Ultimately, I think you have the final say on everything. It's your wedding and you should be able to choose whatever you like. Tell your pain-in-the-a s s BM she can put you in whatever her little heart desires when she's tying the knot, but keep the pie hole shut for now lol

Re: How are you choosing your bm dresses?

I have 5 BMs so what I do is I find dresses that I like and then I send an email to all the girls to get their opinions. I would really like all the girls to wear the same dress so when I look I take into account how certain girls feel about certain styles. For instance, I have 3 BMs that I know for sure don't feel comfortable with strapless dresses for whatever the reasons, so I am looking for dresses with straps because I know the other 2 don't mind. I also want to get a cut that I know would both flatter all girls and that they will feel comfortable in. When it comes time to actually take the girls for their dresses I would like to coordinate a day when they can all come and we can find dresses and have them all try them on and then I will see which ones they like the best and then choose from there.

i tried asking for their opinions but it failed miserably (one of them who lives OOT kept saying she hated my choices) ... i ended up going with just my MOH and asking her opinion ... when we found a dress that we both liked, I told the other girls to just buy it. they had no choices

your situation might obviously be different though ... it depends on your girls ... i'd def ask their advice, if possible, though.

They DO NOT have a say with color!!!! But I am just telling them the color and the length and I am going to have them all wear different dresses.

I thought about doing this too- that's a good idea.

My original plan was to let them wear different dresses but they had to be by the same designer and the same color and material. I picked out 7 and they could choose what the wanted. Funny enough they both walked out the dressing room in the same dress and loved it. so now everyone has the same dress

I let them have a say and I wanted them to have a say. I wanted them to feel comfortable. The first time we went shopping I asked them all a weekend that was good and we went together (4 out of 6). They tried on different styles and gave their input on color and style.

My sister (MOH) felt uncomfortable in a lot of dresses, so I tried looking for chiffon for her. I sent her a few pictures (and the girls), and my sister tried on one that she loved, so I went with that.

Most of the girls tried it on too and said they liked it. I never even saw the dress in person!!! But i loved the picture and they all loved it, and that is what matters.

I'm not picky though.

I think you should get their input on style though because you want them comfortable.

ditto

i'm picking out a bunch of dresses and having them try them on. they already know which is my favorite and of of them, my MOH, is giving me a hard time about that particular dress.

In the end, if it looks good on all of them, even if they don't think it does, i will go with the majority ruling.

Same goes for the color.

also, its going to be very hard to et everyone together on a day to have everyone try on dresses.
get as many as you can to come with yu and take those opinions into consideration when choosing the dress

I'm actually picking a specific color and material and have the girls pick out whatever dress they want. It just HAS to be the same color. Also, I'm still debating on keeping my MOH's w/ long dresses and the BM's with short dresses

I have 11 girls including my MOH.. and I am just picking a dress and a color and saying here ya go.. They'll be black tho so they can't complain. If I had less girls I might be open to letting them have a say, but with that many its easier to just say, thats the dress please buy it lol.

im letting them pick what they want, with a few guidelines- navy blue and strapless and all the same material and length

my gf just picked a dress and called us up and said this is the style number go order it

you can do whatever you want, its your day!

i think most girls will expect to be told what to wear, so i dont think its bridezilla at all!

I'm picking it out including the color and then having one of them try it on (all the others are OOT) to see if it looks good and then i'll have them all order it.

I went by myself picked out a few dresses then took only 3 of my bms back to try on the dresses and get some input....I have 9 bms all together so really didn't want too many opinions. I purposely went during the day one day last week so they only ones that could come were the teachers like myself that had off and it wasnt like i was really leaving the others out, they just had work

I picked my dress. I originally figured that I would take a fee girls and try on different things, but I like a certain dress. I think its flattering for everyone, so I picked it myself :)
