Co-Workers who weren't invited to the wedding and are angry or upset? I invited my main 3 bosses I work for and 2 other woman of which I am friendly with (go to lunch, talk, have drinks with). Since my invites went out my Office Manager seems to be giving me attitude, picking on me almost. I know she said something to one of the girls that was invited about how she wasn't. I feel terrible. I didn't want to offend anyone by not inviting them. We originally were having a bigger wedding than changed it for financial reasons. I kind of let it be known that we had to cut the list and we are paying for everything on our own. I've tried to keep my wedding talk limited in the office, some things I can't. People are always asking...now I just feel awful. I kind of tried to say something like is something bothering you that you want to talk about and she just was like what? why? and i dropped it. I am upset and than angry because i would never make anyone feel bad they didn't invite me, you never know their situation. That is just me personally. Anyone have this??

Re: How are you dealing with
I am sort of waiting for those feelings to come out b/c I didn't invite my entire office, either. I work with about 15 people and only invited 6 of them with their significant others. I ran it by the ones I did invite and asked if they thought others would be mad or offended and they all thought that they would understand but we'll see. I am still not sure that the ones who weren't invited even know that some of them are invited and are coming. That is a really crappy situation b/c I would never make someone feel bad for not inviting me, either! Some people don't even realize what they are doing!

I work with about 40 people and only invited about 6. I invited my boss and people in my department. I feel about the others but I had to draw the line somewhere. Honestly, I thought people would be happy not to get an invite. Noone wants to go to work weddings.

Yeah that is what I am saying I just don't think i would ever make someone feel like they had to invite me to something or make them feel bad for it. I kind of feel like it is rude but I am also upset because I don't want them to think it is personal. It isn't at all, our financial situation just doesn't allow us to extend it to the entire office. I work with 17 attorneys and at least 8 support staff all of whom I am friendly with I wish I could invite them all but it isn't the case.

I had the same problem. Honestly it's very hard to invite everyone especially if you already have a big family. I am regret inviting two particular coworkers as opposed to two others becuase the two I invited responded yes, with guests, and DID NOT SHOW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yea...so we paid for them and they didn't even come)
Just pick and choose wisely is the only advice I can give you. I'm sure the others will understand.
Good luck!

I've asked people invited to not talk a lot about it. In a perfect world I'd be rich and able to invite everyone. But I work with so many people it wasn't feasible. I only invited people I have spent time with outside of work and have developed a friendship with.

She'll get over it.
Maybe your thinking about it too much?? You feel guilty and maybe your guilt is allowing you to see things that aren't really there?? Try not to think about it and just focus on all of the other things you have to do for your day.

I feel your pain on this- there are 8 people in my department- so with dates- that was an extra 16 people- but we share a room with another department & as much as I would have loved to invite them, I couldnt- it just wouldnt have worked. But one of the women is gonna be p.o'd when she finds out she wasnt invited- but what can you do.
just hang in there, your office manager will get over it

Oh no I have a vivid imagination but this isn't part of it lol. Another co-worker said something to me too like what's her problem! So it is def. something it might not be what I think but she is def. in quite the mood.

Re: How are you dealing with
she will totally get over it. I definitely did not invite all my co-workers; i invited all the bosses and then I limited the rest of the invitees to people who have 1. been here since i started AND 2. I've hung out with socially.
I honestly did not give a rat's a$$ if I offended anyone - it's a wedding and I can't afford to invite the whole company and like you said I would NEVER expect to be invited and if she's giving you attitude then she's just being a jerk. while I was on my HM one of my co-worker's who was at my wedding sent pics to the whole office (I wasn't thrilled about that considering i didn't invite everyone) and one guy actually commented about not being invited - one of my friends told me after the fact he said 'I thought we were closer, I can't believe she didn't invite me'. He is just a jealous baby (um, he's 40!) and didn't like that he was excluded, and I heard that and laughed like are you serious?! I can't even stand the guy!! This is the same guy who said 'don't do it' when I said i got engaged because he's divorced and bitter!
people are dumb!

Re: How are you dealing with
I am telling co-workers who I invited to please not say anything since I am not inviting the whole department. My co-worker who got married 2 years ago had people come up to her and say things like 'I saw the photos from your wedding, which I was there!' I can't wait for the snarky comments to come my way. The only thing I can do is smile and say thanks.

I know I will have that problem as well once I get invitations to send out. I would never make anyone feel uncomfortable and I hoping no tries. I am sorry that your coworker is being cruel. Here is the bright side thank goodness you did not invite her if she is such a horrible person.
