How are you honoring deceased relatives?

How are you honoring deceased relatives?

FFIL passed away last year, and I think we should honor him somehow. FH doesn't want to do a whole montage because I think it would be too painful esp since it's Father's Day.

I think we do plan to list deceased relatives in our program. For me, my most important relative who is gone is my nana and my wedding ring is her ring, and I will carry a picture of her on my bo-k.

We were planning to use FFIL's tallis instead of a huppah, but now FH is saying he doesn't know if he has it? I don't know.

I am considering a memorial candle and pictures on a small table at the RH.

At the ceremony, we are going to be saying their names in the petitions and at the reception there will be a floating memorial candle and picture frame next to it.

My step dad passed away last summer and I am carrying a small locket with his ashes in it on my bouquet...it is engraved saying 'always in my heart'. My mom got it for me and I am very excited he will be with me when I walk down that aisle! We are also doing a donation in his name as our favor and putting his name in our program...I couldn't bear to do the montage as it will be emotional enough for me that day and the candle with the pictures was also too much for me.....

Re: How are you honoring deceased relatives?

I wanted to do something in memory of my father and I was thinking a candle or doing the the memory picture around the bouquet. However, my FH grandfather passed away this November and he raised FH like his own son. When I brought up the subject he said he really didn't want to do any memorial thing because it would feel like a funeral. So now I am torn because I don't feel it is right jsut to do something for my father and not his grandfather .... I think people will get offended and I don't want to upset FH because I know it is super hard the first year after you loss someone close to you. I have had years to come to terms with my father being gone and he just hasn't. I may not do the candle since that may be off putting to everyone but I think I have to do the memory picture on the bouquet at least for my dad because I feel it would be like him walking me down the aisle.

We are doing a silent blessing for FH's aunt and my father and grandparents. I am also doing a pic montage in tribute to my father while I dance with my mother.

It's sad but my list could go on so I'm just honoring my brother... I'm still on the fence if I should do my grandparents(dads parents) & my grandma(mom's mom) ... They will all be in memory with me but idk
