yea..these gas prices are just outrageous. I'm luckly because i only have to drive a few mins and then I take the train to work. FH on the other hand spends tons of money on gas and tolls. We could be saving all that money for the wedding!

yep..fh has a commute and a half..he travels from holtsville (which is near patchogue) to rockville center everyday! He recently started taking the train..he couldn't deal anymore

It is sooooooooo bad I have a truck and it is killing me! 4.17 at one of the gas stations by my house! I drove to another one that was 3.99 it is terrible!

the cheapest i saw this morning was $3.97 and that was in the ghetto..and by afternoon i think the prices shot up again ..cause none were cheaper than 4!

I just filled my tank on Old Country Road in Hicksville and it was 3.97...(near Levittown parkway)

I wish FH could take the train! He drives from Jersey to the Bronx everyday, oh yea, and then from there to Queens a few times a week. It's the worst because he can only come see me a few times a week bc of the commute.

HOw long does the train take? The train from Westbury to Stony Brook is like an hour and 45 miinutes. It's ridiculous.

When it takes over $50 to fill a 12Gallon Honda Civic, there's a problem. I'm glad I don't like too far from where I teach and FH and I can actually commute together, but it's still stupid.

its actually not that bad..its almost the same..55 minutes i think..but he always gets home late because he has to go by the schedule now, and can't go whenever he feels like it

Re: How are you ladies affording..

yeah, it's making me nervous too....i spend $8 a day ALONE on tolls....and fill up once a week just to make it to work. It comes out to over $400 a month that i am spending just to get to work!

If he works close to the train in RVC then it is so worth it. My building was a half of block so even in the freezing cold or scorching heat it was doable. The only good thing was if I drove my boss let me come in later so I didn't have to sit in traffic. But I totally feel you FH's pain.

I do 60 miles round trip a day -- it is horrible. Our only saving grace is FH works from home so only one of us is filling up every week!
