How are you NOT going to cry on the wedding day?

I feel like i will start balling in tears. Any ideas on how not to cry throughout the day? (a few tears is okay, balling is not).

I do think the makeup that reacts to crying badly (mascara, etc...) is so tacky (sorry if that is harsh)...but that alone may keep me from crying.

I am definitely going to cry at the ceremony and during the parent dances but I think besides that I am going to be good.. it's going to be the best party of your life - no time for tears!

No clue as to how to stop tears. Hoping no balling happens at my wedding, not good for pics.

i'm gonna be a disaster - i wish they had one of those smelly sticks- that wake people up when they've passed out- for crying.

I heard that you could try repeating a phrase in your head over and over! That may help!

A wee bit of ativan or xanax will help me get through the ceremony. I think I'll be okay for most of the reception except for our first dance/parent dances

glad i am not the only one :) i want to be able to think about everything going on that day at that moment but i think that is what will do it for me- i guess i better just think about the party and not the emotional part of it all :)

judging by how ridiculously hard i cried when i found my wedding dress, i'm going to be a total mess that day. i'm just worried i'll look awful in pictures because i'll be trying so hard NOT to cry. my sister actually didn't cry at ALL on her wedding day, and she'd normally cry. she said that something just took over her, she was too HAPPY to cry (even if they would be tears of joy) i'm hoping that same thing happens to me, but i highly doubt it.

My aunt who is an emotional reck (arguably worse than me) swears the same thing. She had sooo much going on her wedding day (and just had lost her dad) and swears she did not cry- almost like an out of body experience.

CRASHING!!

I am the biggest cry baby ever. I cry at every wedding I go to, see on tv, etc. EVEn if I don't know the person, I will shed some tears. I was nervous about this, but the day of, didn't cry! Got choked up a little during the vows, but don't think a tear even fell!

I was all SMILES all day. A lot of tears leading up to the day, but that day I was calm as could be and just sooooo happy. No crying for this cry baby

And, if you cry, your makeup artist will make sure it doesnt ruin your makeup. And have a friend check your makeup to make sure it's all good!
